Jeffery Kinnie, a Parkview Hospital employee, is making a difference in the community one shift at a time. Kinnie completes his work day, clocks out and then finds out from nurses which patients haven’t had any visitors that day. He then takes time to check in with the patients and see how they are doing.
Kinnie is known as an “Everyday Star,” and a canvas was recently completed in his likeness for The Murosity Project, an initiative by Parkview Hospital. The project is a community-based art project reflecting generosity through the combination of a mosaic of images, that when placed together form a mural.
A total of 160 individual canvases make up the mural, which will be displayed in the emergency department of the new Parkview Regional Medical center in the fall.
Mural honors Everyday Stars
Painters pay tribute to 160 for generosity

A healing blanket, a food-stuffed backpack, a glowing lantern.
All of those images are part of an ongoing mural project, called “Murosity,” which will honor more than 160 people who have made a difference in the community as “Everyday Stars.”
The project is “a great exchange of energy and art,” says Vicki Junk-Wright, an art teacher at Canterbury High School, who is one of six local artists organizing the project.
The others are Santa Brink, Karen Moriarty, Teri Marquardt, Penny French-Deal and Terry Ratliff.
Dave Ridderheim Reflects on the Joy and Renewal of The Murosity™ Project
Santa and Vicki:
I want to sincerely thank both of you for your helpfulness, talent, positive attitude and willingness to help amateurs such as I have fun in helping create the Murosity™ mural. I must admit I was dreading my first day after agreeing to be an artist for Larry Rowland. You both made the entire experience one of joy and renewal! Thank you so much for all you have done and are doing to assist in this great project. Look forward to seeing the finished product and had no idea of the complexity in its creation.
