I chose this panel because it might simulate the atmosphere of Afghanistan and includes two red splotches as if blood has been shed.  The face of Allison Mansfield is behind the image of Sergeant Statzer as if watching over him.  The Sergeant was the motivation for Allison's efforts as a young girl to do something practical, yet significant for the soldiers - give them warm socks...to protect the feet of those brave heroes who are protecting us all. The weapon is the Sergeant's hands is masked by a burst of green to represent life and freedom, and to diminish the importance of that weapon because Allison's generosity is directed toward the person inside the uniform, not toward machines of war.
